Title: Double blind randomized Placebo-controlled clinical trial of herbal compound Glucomap on metabolic profile in Type 2 Diabetic patients.

Effects of Glucomap have been studied in the metabolic profile of T2DM (Type II Diabetes Mellitus) patients by Dr. Anoop Misra and his team at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The results of this Double Blind placebo controlled trial showed significant reduction in fasting blood glucose levels and in glycosylated hemoglobin levels, also no adverse effects were reported.

Title: Hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic and General Beneficial Effects of an Herbal Mixture MA-471.

Anti-diabetic and general effects of Glucomap were also studied by Dr. A.R. Sircar and his Research Team at KGMC, Lucknow and it was found that Glucomap has significant hypoglycemic properties. An improvement was also seen in symptoms such as constipation, Fatigue, Polyurea etc, and general well-being of the patients; leading to the conclusion that; apart from having no adverse drug reactions as in case of OHAs, Glucomap also has side-benefits for diabetics.

RESEARCH STUDY

Title: Open randomized clinical trial comparing herbal compound MA1596 with Lovastatin in hyperlipidemic subjects.

Clinical Research on Maharishi Ayurveda product - Lipomap shows that it is very effective in dyslipidemia and has no harmful side effects. Lipomap, a herbo-mineral formulation from Maharishi Ayurveda works with a multi-directional approach resulting in a strong synergistic effect to manage cholesterol.

Lipomap has been clinically evaluated by Dr. Anoop Misra and his Research Team at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and it was found that Lipomap significantly reduced Triglyceride levels and increased HDL-c levels. The trial was an open randomized clinical trial comparing Lipomap with statins in hyperlipidemic patients.

Gastric Disorders

Title: A randomized trial comparing herbal compound Amlant with Ranitidine in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia.

Clinical efficacy and tolerability of Amlant a Maharishi Ayurveda product, was compared with Ranitidine in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia at the Department of Gastroenterology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi by Dr. M.P. Sharma and his team. It was found that a much greater percentage of patients in the Amlant group had a successful response in comparison with the Ranitidine group, also Amlant, being a natural product reported no side effects.

Anaemia

Raktda, a poly-herbal formulation for Anaemia, has proved to be very effective in varied cases of Anaemia, in an open trial conducted by Dr.Sanjay Chhajed at Baba Ramdev Institute for Ayurvediya Panchkarma and Research at Aurangabad.

It was found that the Haemoglobin levels improved significantly just within one month of taking Raktda without any other accompanied medicine.

The study also suggested that Raktda can be used as a safe Heamatinic irrespective of the origin of Anaemia in either sex and at any age.

Arthritis

Pirant Oil was used in traumatic & non-traumatic, acute and chronic orthopedic patients in an academic study conducted by Dr. Sunil Sharma at Varanasi.

According to the study Pirant showed very good anti arthritic effect even when used alone and was found to be a safe local analgesic in nearly all types of orthopaedic problems.
Also use of Pirant tablets avoided gastritis and other ill effects of systemic NSAIDs.
Patient compliance with Pirant was found to be excellent and Pirant could be used for prolonged periods.

Cardio Vascular Disorders – Hypertension

Maharishi Ayurveda’s product Cardimap, is an effective remedy for controlling HTN according to research study done by Dr. Vijay R. Potdar, Dr. Brahmankar and Dr. Sachin conducted at R.A. Podar Medical (Ayu.) College in Mumbai.
The Study included patients with mild, moderate and severe HTN and Cardimap was found to be effective in 96% patients, and highly effective in 78% patients. It was also found that Cardimap is useful in avoiding complications of HTN and had no reported adverse effects.

Research on cancer and chemotherapy toxicity

Maharishi Amrit Kalash (MAK) belongs to a group of herbal formulations called “Rasayanas”. MAK enhances immunity and prevents free radical generation. MAK (4 & 5) has been found to prevent the formation of chemically induced (induced by DMBA) breast cancer up to 88% in rodents. MAK has also regressed tumors in 60% of cases. MAK-4 has been found to reduce metastasis in lung cancer in animals.

MAK also found to have effect on reduction on chemo toxicity in animal studies. Two clinical studies have been shown to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
