MAK (4 & 5) has been found to prevent the formation of chemically induced (induced by DMBA) breast cancer up to 88% in rodents. MAK has also regressed tumors in 60% of cases. MAK-4 has been found to reduce metastasis in lung cancer in animals.

MAK also found to have effect on reduction on chemo toxicity in animal studies. Two clinical studies have been shown to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
